Hazel Lanier Barrett

Hazel was born in Beulaville, NC, where she grew up on a tobacco farm. She moved to Colorado and built a beautiful family life. She worked and retired from the Teamster’s Union (Kroger). She lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family, friends and neighbors, gardening, and exploring nature and sightseeing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed shooting as a member of the NRA.

Hazel especially will be remembered by her beautiful smile, faith, strength of spirit, and her fierce, unconditional love for her family and friends.

Hazel’s legacy is carried on by her sons Soren Swigart and Patrick Barrett, step-children, Paul Barrett, Jr. (Barbara), Roger Barrett (Charlotte), and Paulette Rigg (Joe), 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, along with countless family and friends.

Hazel was reunited in Heaven with her family; Loving husband, Paul Barrett; Sons, Craig Swigart, Mark Swigart, and Daniel Barrett; 5 siblings, Faye, Annie, Shirley, Alvis Ray, and Cecil; along with her parents Albert and Eva Lanier.

Visitation will be 10:00am-12:00pm with funeral service immediately following where her final resting place will be beside her husband, and reception from 12:30-2:30pm Tuesday, April 9 at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave in Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
