Gloria Frances Peterson

Gloria F. Peterson was born on March 16, 1928. She was the seventh, and last child of Clara and J.O. Peterson. She grew up on the family farm, in the outskirts of Ragan Nebraska. Gloria graduated from Ragan High School in 1945, and furthered her education in secretarial school. After moving to Colorado, she worked at the Keebler Company and then Mountain Bell.

Gloria met Robert (Bob) Peterson on a blind date, and they married in 1948. They moved to Lakewood, Colorado, raised four children, Gregg, Marcey, Lori and Suzie and remained together 51 years.

Gloria loved cooking and gardening. Sewing was her passion and embroidery, cross-stitch, needlepoint, smocking, crewel work and rug hooking were common projects. Her creative nature was a gift she shared with her family.

Gloria and Bob were early members of Shepherd of The Hills United Presbyterian Church. In the mid 1960’s Gloria, with her sisters Marge and Ev created a small business they called MEG. Their products featured Barbie and Troll doll attire and accessories. In the late 1960’s Gloria and Bob started a photography studio called Mystic Studio.

Gloria passed peacefully on the morning of her 91st birthday surrounded by family.

Gloria is predeceased in death by her husband Bob and daughter Marcey. She is survived by her children Gregg Peterson, Lori Mastroni, and Suzie Peterson, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Gloria inspired her family in her strength and love of life. She treasured every moment with her family.

Her Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am on Sun., March 31, 2019 at Olinger Crown Hill, Pavilion of Reflection. She will be placed with her husband at Olinger Crown Hill Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
