Jerry was a life long Colorado resident. He loved to fish, hike, play golf, bowl and was an avid gardener. Jerry was an excellant horse race handicapper and liked to play the slots at Blackhawk, Colorado. At the age of 82, he played poker at a charity fundraiser. He won as the crowd chanted "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry."
Jerry graduated from Golden High School and attended Colorado University School of Pharmacy. He was certified as an apprentice pharmacist.
Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy and became a corpsman. The navy supplied medics to the Marine Corps, so he served in Korea as a Marine Medic.
After discharge, he returned home to Lakewood. He worked for Sundstrand aviation until his retirement.
Jerry was vary family oriented and was close to sisters: Alice, Doris and Barbara and brothers: Don and Bob.
He adored his nieces and nephews and liked to attend their games and activities.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Alice and youngest sister Barbara Ann Smith.
He is survived by two sisters, Alice (Bill) Groethe, Doris (Jim) Teliha and brothers, Don (Nancy) Marks and Bob (Barbara)Marks.
Memorial service, Saturday, September 21, 2013, 2pm in the Pavilion of Reflection located on the grounds of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
