Donald John Kammerzell, of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on November 30th, 2021. Don just reached 60 years of age as he was born on November 30th, 1961, to Donald Dean Kammerzell and Roseanne Kammerzell. His passing came sudden; however, his life and legacy will be carried on by his loved ones.
Don grew up in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and attended Wheat Ridge High School. He then ventured to the University of Colorado and earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. His final degree was completed at Colorado State University where he attained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. To no surprise, he graduated with high distinctions from both. His passion for learning did not stop there. Everyone who came across Don could quickly realize his brilliance, his drive to research and humbly teach himself and his family how to fix anything and everything.
Shortly after graduating from CSU in 1989, Don married his college sweetheart, Debbie. In 1992, Don’s dreams came true with the birth of their son, Zach. He knew then he now had a buddy to share hobbies and create memories together for life. Don continued to practice Veterinary Medicine throughout his lifetime. He was a seasoned horseman and found the most joy in his work while outside, climbing cattle panels on ranches located miles from nowhere. For many years, Don was actively involved in the family hay farm in Longmont, Colorado. A place that was not shy from teaching the family many valuable life lessons. He truly was a country boy at heart.
He was an avid outdoorsman, always planning his next adventure. Hunting and fishing took Don and his close family members to destinations around the world. Including the open waters of Alaska, the rugged terrain of Newfoundland, and the rolling prairie fields of the Midwest.
Don had a strong passion for supporting those who fought for our country. For the past several years, Don volunteered with the Patriot Guard Riders, an alliance of motorcycle riders whose mission is to show their respect for our fallen heroes. Not only was it crucial for him to support those who fought for us, but he was devoted to fighting for his family and friends. He took pride in providing and protecting his loved ones.
Don is preceded in death by his Mother, Roseanne. He is survived by his Wife Debbie, Son Zach (Rachel); Father Donald; Brother Ronald (Judy), and countless other family members and friends.
We have planned a celebration of life to cherish the memories we shared with Don. Family, loved ones, and friends are welcome to come share one last beer with Don at Blue Spruce Brewery on January 22, 2022. Please stop by the brewery located at 10577 W.
