David was born to Curtis and Patricia Ridenour in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Pleasant View High School in 1967, he attended Ohio State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering in 1971. He also attended the Air Force Institution of Technology completing a Master of Science in facilities management in 1977.
He was commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and entered active duty in March of 1972.
He went on to serve in the Air Force for 20 distinguished years. After retiring from the Air Force he continued to serve at various institutions including the City of Denver, Rocky Flats Plant, and GM’s Production Facility in Shanghai China.
In 1973, he met Joette, and they wed in 1975, going on to have one child, Caroline.
After retiring, David's hobbies included working on cars, going to car shows, building models, and spending precious time with his wife.
He is preceded by his parent's Curtis and Patricia Ridenour. He leaves behind his wife Joette, daughter Caroline and her family Matt (spouse), Tiffany (daughter) and Andrew (son) Purvis, and his brother Rick and Ellen (spouse) Ridenour.
