She spent her childhood in Colorado, graduating from North High School in 1949. She married Jack a few weeks later and, a few months later they moved to Michigan where she continued working as a secretary until Jack was drafted in 1952.
During the Army years she worked as a secretary in an Army hospital and on the Army bases where Jack was stationed.
While her three children, David, Jeanine and Douglas were growing up in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, she was privleged to be a stay-at-home mom. During these years she worked in the Protestant Sunday Schools, volunteered at the school and developed her love of writing.
After returning to Colorado in 1965 she continued to do volunteer work. Shes was an original member of a group of free-lance writers, We Write of Colorado. She worked as a secretary until she resigned to pursue a college education. She gratuated in 1985 with a degree in English and Writing from Metro State College. For a time she worte for "Living the Good News" a publication of the Episcopal Church for use in their sunday schools, but then, went back to free-lance writing. She joined the Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators and saw many of her writings published for children and adults.
From her childhood days until she was 57 she was active in Protestant Sunday Schools and Churches. She and Jack converted to Catholicism on Easter, 1989.
In January, 1990 they returned to the Arvada area where they joined Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, where until Jack's death in 2016, they worked first with the RCIA program and then enjoyed ten years fo the Great Adventure Bible Study.
She was loved by family and friends and will be missed.
