Brandon James Campbell

Brandon Campbell, age 37, passed away peacefully after a fearless battle with cancer on Sunday July 7, in his loving wife, Amanda’s arms and with his sister, Cody by his side. Brandon was born to Glenna and Les in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Brandon leaves behind an impressive legacy, including his son—and greatest blessing—Brady.

Though he left us too soon, Brandon lived a fulfilling life, accomplishing everything with earnest humor, humility, and grit. Brandon grew up in Red Deer and was an important part of the neighborhood in his formative years. He loved sports and played many, participating in all kinds of activities with his friends as a child. His main passion growing up was hockey. He played competitively in his youth and recreationally afterwards. Brandon started and completed his post-secondary education in Calgary, and he continued to grow and develop there. After his time in Calgary, Brandon moved to the United States, achieving the first of many ambitious dreams he set for himself.

Brandon loved everything about America. He enjoyed watching his favorite American sports teams (the Bucs), and, more importantly, reconnected with his sister, Cody, a fellow Canadian transplant to the American South. Brandon spent summers with Cody, and her husband Cam, simply enjoying time together in a place they loved. He recalled those memories as some of the best in his life.

After a close friendship for more than a decade, Brandon and Amanda fell in love and started a life together. Brandon considered Amanda the “Great Love” of his life. Brandon and Amanda travelled all over the country and the world, escaping on numerous adventures and growing in their love—including seeing Brandon’s favorite Football team, Chelsea, win the championship in London. While building a life together, Brandon and Amanda added one more to the family, Brady (2012). Brandon adored Brady, loved every minute of time he spent with Brady, and was an excellent father. In a life defined by successes, Brandon celebrated Brady—and the man he will grow into—the most.

Brandon achieved all this while maintaining a dedicated running hobby, normally waking up early to put in miles so that his passion didn’t take time from Brady and Amanda. He ran half-marathons, full-marathons, and even a 50K—almost always up a gigantic mountain. Brandon celebrated crossing finish lines with many of his closest friends and family. As in everything else, Brandon was unfailingly positive and encouraged everyone to join him in his running sanctuary.

Brandon complimented his successful family life and running with an impressive career. Brandon innovated in food products and manufacturing, making numerous friends along the way. He was so respected for his work that he twice educated the United States Congress about Colorado’s experience with American manufacturing. Brandon ended his career at Cappello’s—his dream job with friends like family.

Brandon is survived by his loving wife, Amanda, his son Brady, his sister, Cody Ward, her husband Cam, and Brandon’s niece and nephew, Nolan and Nyla, Brandon’s stepbrothers, Greg and Brad Cornell and their families, his mother, Glenna Campbell, father, Les Campbell and stepmother, Sharon Campbell, his best friend Darryl Hemstreet and his family. Brandon’s grandmother and grandfather, Terry & Ken Campbell, who predeceased him, each played an important role in Brandon’s life. He leaves behind a community of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Brandon’s life will take place at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado at 9:30 AM on July 13, 2019.
