Barbara J. Fazio

Barbara Jean Fabrizio Fazio - Texarkana, TX ─ Barbara Fazio, 75, passed away July 8, 2014 in Texarkana, TX after a brave and graceful battle with cancer. She was born in Denver, CO on May 8, 1939 to parents Frank “Pinky” Fabrizio and Ruth Burnett Fabrizio. She attended South High School in Denver and then pursued a career as a beautician, practicing her passion for the latest trends in hair and fashion. It was not long before she took on a new role raising a child with disabilities. In this, she realized her true love in advocating for children with special needs, a job which she tirelessly pursued. Known as a mother to so many, she is remembered with love by family, friends, neighbors, and the whole community for her kindness and ability to never meet a stranger. She is predeceased in death by her husband of 44 years, John M. Fazio. She is survived by her son, John M. Fazio II, and daughter, Rosie Fazio, both of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Liz Fazio of Austin, TX; and granddaughter, Julia Fazio. She is also survived by a sister, Donna Sabin, and brother-in-law, Arden Sabin, of Armstrong, IA and a brother, Frank Fabrizio, and sister-in-law, Nancy Fabrizio of Denver, CO. A Rosary at 3:30 PM followed by Visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2014 will be held at East Funeral Home on 2807 Moores Lane in Texarkana, TX. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church followed by interment at The Tower of Memories, Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, CO, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
