The 3rd of 5 children born to Al and Anna Mae Artzer. John was very dedicated to his faith. He was an active member of both St. James and Risen Christ Catholic Parishes.
After graduating Regis High School, John proudly served 4 years in U.S. Navy and returned to Denver to complete his Bachelor degree at Colorado University. In 1964 he married Kathleen O'Loughlin and they welcomed five delightful children.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, daughter Lisa (David Perez), sons Andrew (Melissa), Christopher (Karalee), David (Carey), Scott (Aimee), siblings Francis Calfo and Ron Artzer, numerous nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
