Albert Willam Cress Jr. went home to Our Heavenly Father on August 27, 2022. Albert was born on October 9, 1949 to Albert and Connie (Ortiz) Cress. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Bernice Montera. He is survived by sisters Cleo Trujillo, Celia Mares, Tina Vigil, Norma Cress, Mae (Herman) Esquibel and Brothers Richard and Tom and (Mary) Cress. Albert will be dearly missed by many close friends and extended family.
Services will be held at 10:30 on September 26th with Reverend Dick Whitworth officiating at Olinger Crown Hill, Wheatridge, Colorado followed by a reception and then Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:15.
Albert attended Trinidad School District No. 1 graduating in 1967. He attended TSJC for one year.
Albert joined the United States Navy in 1969. He Served with Patrol Squadron 17, homeported at the Naval Air Station in Barbers Point, Hawaii. He was the Personnel Office Supervisor responsible for over 300 military personnel records and entire personnel office staff. He also served as the Captains Aide.
His military honors included Outstanding Recruit, Company Honorman, Sailor of the Month (twice), Naval Achievement Medal, issued by then secretary of the Navy, the Honorable Senator John Warner, and Seventh Fleet Letter of Commendation.
He then began his training to become a minister. He attended Northwest Nazarene College and Central Bible College also receiving vast training through seminars and conferences taught by renowned speakers and teachers. He was ordained into the ministry in 1979, Illinois District Council of the Assemblies of God. He became the executive assistant to the state superintendent.
In 1984 he became the Executive Assistant to the corporate Executive Director at Heritage Village Church and Missionary Fellowship in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1987 he became the Administrative Assistant at the Aurora First Assembly of God Aurora Colorado. He served as the Associate pastor at the Hosanna Christian Fellowship of Aurora Colorado in 1993.
He began his career with Mountain Man Candy in July 1997 managing two stores and remaining there for 25 years until December 2021.
He was bilingual in Spanish language. He was an amazing cook and baker and loved entertaining. He enjoyed traveling, the holidays and decorating. He will be remembered for his joyous laughter and kind heart.
