Addie—what a pleasure it was watching so many generations you created honor you today. Your legacy will no doubt continue through the kindness and love they share in the world. My sincere gratitude for always welcoming me, and ensuring I had a plate at your table. You and your family have touched my life so profoundly, and I consider myself lucky to have been a small part of the world you built.

I had the great good fortune to be a neighbor to Addie (and Deane) at Wheat Ridge Town Center Apartments. Addie had the special gift of hospitality and welcoming to the new residents that moved in and ensured they knew about all the "happenings" and felt comfortable joining in - be it potlucks, wii bowling, bingo, etc.

As I watched Addie and Deane's love story enfold it was a cause of great joy and hope. After Addie and Deane moved from our apartments, I'd see them at Safeway, holding hands and doing grocery shopping.

Addie lived her Catholic faith like a perfectly fitting outfit. She was an example to all of the rest of us who shared her beliefs.

I pray for all, including myself, who mourn Addie's leaving us..until we meet again.

Addie and John were great friends to Dennis, Jennifer and me!  We were involved in collecting beer items with them for years and every summer would make a trip to Abilene. KS with them to attend a beer can trade.  One year when we were  on our annual trip we stopped at our regular station to fill up with gas.  Wondering about our progress I kind of offhandedly said, “I wonder what time we stopped here last year?”   Addie whipped out a  little notebook that she carried with her and gave  me  the precise date, time, price of the gas and number of gallons from the previous year.  She was one of the most organized people I have ever known!  More than that, she loved  and cared for all of her friends and, most importantly, her family.  We loved Addie.

Addie always had great style!!   Addie and John Cooke, along with her parents, Albert  and Theresa Colaizzi, would give the best parties.  Plenty of food, drinks, fun, laughter.  The guys would play Bocce Ball , an Italian yard game, then escape to John's basement to play poker.  He had made it to quite a Man Cave.....VERY COOL.  He had a collection of beer caps, bottles too, from all over.    It was June 1977, my date for the evening at the Cooke / Colaizzi party,  was my son, John Jr., just 2 months old.  Everyone was coming over to meet my son.  Rick Colaizzi came over to say HI.  He said he had just arrived.  Rick explained that his mom, Dianne, thought the party started an hour later than it actually did.  He said his dad, Don, was out of town on business, so he came with his sister, Denise and brother John.  He wanted to be on time for the party, so he asked what he missed.  Rick made me laugh, because I know how important it was for him to be on time.  Even I didn't want to be late to one of 
Addie & John's party.  It was that fun!!                     The last 22 years I have lived in Las Vegas, NV.   SO, I WAS THRILLED WHEN ADDIE CALLED TO SAY SHE WANTED TO GET TOGETHER WHEN SHE WAS COMING TO LAS VEGAS WITH TERRI & ROD.   My companion, Jerry Walter, and myself, met them for the next 4-5 years.  It was so nice to see everyone.  We would always have dinner at a really good restaurant, and sometimes see a show.  Addie enjoyed playing blackjack, video poker, and her FAVORITE WAS BINGO.  They had a wonderful Bingo Hall at Southpoint, a fabulous hotel/casino located south of the strip.  Five years ago, in 2018, we were celebrating Addie's 85th Birthday!!      We met at the Tuscany hotel/ casino at their Italian restaurant.  Tami came to celebrate with Terri & Rod.  Also, I got to meet Addie's partner, Deane Lawrence.  He is one of the nicest men I have ever met.  He so adored Addie, so attentive, so caring.  Getting a 2nd chance at Love is SWEET!!  Cheryl Adams 


Our sincere sympathy to the entire family.  Addie and family have been neighbors and good friends since 1967 when our family moved in across the street.  Addie was so wonderful.   We will remember her as this beautiful person with the most erect perfect posture during her working years     She was so kind and caring.    We will truly miss her.   I’m glad that Dean has decided to stay in the neighborhood.  He also is a kind and caring person     Deanna Leino and Mike Bonan 

For as long as I remember, I admired Addie!!  She was, after all, a classy, attractive lady, full of charm.  She always knew what to say, 
she was funny, yet direct!!   Addie stepped out looking perfect....every hair in place, she would wear very colorful outfits.  She loved giving fabulous parties, as well as going to them too.  I think, however, Addie LOVED going to LAS VEGAS!!  NEVADA, THAT IS!!
She said once, " What other place is there?!"  Addie would call my dad when he still worked for Samsonite, wanting the latest luggage.  She visited me 5 times with her family in Las Vegas!!  Always having a nice dinner, sometimes we would go to a show.  I will treasure our visits!!    Cheryl Adams
