Richard (Dick) Stumpf, formerly of Framingham, MA and Bonita Springs, FL, died peacefully on June 16, 2019 following a brief illness. He was born in Waltham, MA on September 20,1927 and was predeceased by the love of his life Connie in 2014. He was looking forward to the day they would be reunited. Richard was the son of the late Richard F. Stumpf, Sr. and Clara Bagley Stumpf; brother of the late William Stumpf and Shirley MacDougall.
Richard is survived by his 4 daughters and their families, Linda Stumpf of Ocean City, MD, Christine Ransom and her husband Richard of Bonita Springs, FL, Sandy Mauro and her husband Vinny of Upton, MA, Susan Abady and her husband Jack of Millis, MA, 8 grandchildren, Ricky, Michael, Rob and Steven Trialonas, Matt and Bryant Ransom, Max and Allie Mauro, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dick loved all sports and was a Waltham High School captain of the hockey and football teams; president of his high school class and a Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne of the US Army. Dick owned Auburndale Shoe Service for 35 years before his retirement. After which, he loved working for the next 15 years at Brae Burn Country Club in Newton MA when he wasn’t golfing at the Marlboro Country Club. Dick always lived life to the fullest, was the life of any party and always had a story or joke to tell. He spent his last two years making friends and entertaining the residents at The Highlands in Westborough.
A private family Memorial Mass will be said and in lieu of flowers, his family suggests that donations in Richard’s memory be sent to the Veterans Association at www.militaryveteransassociation.com/donation
