He was a man of remarkable resilience and unwavering dedication, embodying the values of hard work and perseverance. Tom's journey began on a dairy farm, where he learned the importance of determination from a young age. Despite humble beginnings, he forged his path, marrying Gail Pierce at a young age and venturing into various endeavors to provide for his growing family.
Tom's career spanned from starting at detailing on a car lot, working in the oilfields, cattle and grain farming, and owning his own businesses. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish several successful businesses, including Minard Vermeer Sales, Minard Metal Buildings, Minard Equipment, TM Minard Trucking, and Minard’s Smoke Shop and finally Minard's Leisure World, which grew to become the largest RV business in Saskatchewan.
In addition to his professional achievements, Tom was a devoted family man. He and Gail raised their children, Gene and Lynda, while juggling the demands of farming and business ownership. Papa Tom’s love for his family was evident in his support of their pursuits and his pride in their accomplishments. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and watching the ocean and M.A.S.H.
Tom's journey was defined by the mentality of “where there’s a strong will, there is a way”, and a deep commitment to his loved ones. While he may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Tom Minard will be remembered for his strength, his humour, and the profound impact he had on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
