Patricia Ann Johnstone

1958 ~ 2017

Patty Johnstone passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the age of 58 years. Patty was predeceased by her mother, Beatrice Johnstone; great niece, Iyanna Loustel; special cousin, Lynn Mondor; grandparents and many dear aunts & uncles. Patty was born to Patrick and Beatrice on June 16, 1958, the second of six children. She grew up in Frobisher, Saskatchewan and attended school in Redvers and Oxbow. Early childhood in a loving family and a caring community was a happy time for Patty. She taught her family patience, honesty and most importantly all about not taking life too seriously. Patty was employed at the Activity Centre in Redvers and the Wor-Kin Shop in both Estevan and Weyburn. She participated in the Special Olympics and especially liked to run. She attended Camp Easter Seal and enjoyed many camping trips with her family and enjoyed swimming in particular. Her hobbies included knitting and latch hooking. Patty loved to help around the house but also enjoyed going out for coffee with friends, listening to music and dancing. In her later years Patty was happy to be under the loving care of the Weyburn Group Home Staff and later at Tatagwa View where she was given extra special loving care. Patty will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Jean (Jerry) Fitzgerald and their children: Erin, Ryan (Lenna) and Sean (Stippe Tuovinen); Larry (Karen) Johnstone and their children: Devin (Jade) and daughter, Sloan, Mitchell (Jackie Myers) Nolan and Aiden; Danny (Glenda) Johnstone and their children: Jannel (Dustin) and children, Olivia & Jake; Dillon (Kayla Palmer) and Brittni (Kerry Ford); Mary Ann (Jeff) Flaaten and their children: Jordan (Lisa) and son, Asher and Alaina (Carter Hilkewich); Brenden (Roberta) Johnstone and their children: Patrick and John; aunts and uncles: Robert (Coletta) Beliveau, Carol (Bernie) Dighans, Catherine Mondor (Omer Lapointe), Mary McDonnell and Ellen Johnson as well as many cousins, friends and care providers. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Father Francis Plaparampil celebrating. Interment will take place at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens, Estevan, Saskatchewan. Active Pallbearers are Jerry, Jeff, Jordan, Devin, Dillon and Dustin. Donations in memory of Patty may be made to Tatagwa View House #8, Weyburn Group Homes Society Inc. or Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop.
