Gerald Rudolph Leas

Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Clarence & Sophie Leas; brothers, Marlowe & John Leas; infant sister, Mary Anne Leas.

Gerald is survived by his son, Christopher (Alisa) Leas of Midale, SK; son, Jeremy Leas (Cassidy Orsted) of Griffin, SK; son, Tyler Leas of Slave Lake, AB; sister, Bonnie Swanstrom of Melfort, SK; as well as his nieces, nephew, and many friends.

Gerald Rudolph Leas was born on April 15th, 1957 to Clarence and Sophie. He grew up on a farm outside of Fillmore, SK with his three brothers and sister. His love for farming began at a young age when he started helping his dad with the cows and he began growing his own herd.

He moved to Halbrite, SK in 1981 and had a cattle ranch there until 1991 when he moved his herd to Griffin, SK. He continued to farm in the Griffin/Fillmore area for the rest of his life. He had three sons, Tyler, Chris and Jeremy. His kids meant everything to him, he taught them many things that they will forever cherish.

He had a soft spot for all animals whether it was putting out a special dish of food for his hay yard foxes or taking in renegade horses and orphan livestock. His cattle were his passion, as well as his horses and donkeys.

He had a great sense of humor, made friends everywhere he went and he was known for always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors and friends.

At the request of Gerald, no funeral service will be held. Interment will take place at a later date.
