Sebastiano LoNero

Sebastiano LoNero, 90, beloved husband of the late Francesca (Bonfiglio) LoNero, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024 with his family by his side. Sebastiano was born on August 15, 1934 in Solarino, Province of Siracusa, Sicily and was the son of the late Salvatore and Sebastiana (Signorino) LoNero.

Sebastiano proudly served in the Italian Army form 1954-1956, stationed in Torin, Italy. He was a skilled mason, sharing his talent, working for many construction companies throughout the years. He enjoyed gardening, watching his favorite sport of soccer and spending time with friends at the Italian-American Star, where he was a member for over 54 years. Sebastiano will also be remembered for his love of making and sharing his delicious homemade wine. Most of all he was devoted to his family.

Sadly, he leaves his son Salvatore LoNero of Lebanon and his daughter Lena DeCesaris and her husband Livio of Glastonbury along with his five cherished grandchildren; Daniel, David, Luke, Clarissa and Isabelle and his precious great grandson, Owen. He also leaves his brother Paolo LoNero and his wife Lucia of Hartford and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Sebastiano was predeceased by his brothers, Salvatore LoNero and Giuseppe LoNero.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation (Christ the King Parish) Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fairfield Avenue, Hartford.
