Samuel Thomas ""Mr. Wonderful"" Martz, 66, of Wethersfield beloved husband for 30 years of Judee (Onder) Martz, died peacefully on Wednesday, (November 16, 2005). He was born August 18, 1939 in Warren, OH and was the son of the late Loyal Clair Martz and Gyla (Heasley) Martz. He was a United States Marine veteran and Samuel was the Director of the C.I.L.U./ C.I.P.U. Police Union and Municipal Employee Union. He was a member of the Clowns of America, founder of Steel Valley Homes for Youth Inc. a Eucharistic minister and he had a love for ballroom dancing. Besides his wife he is survived by six daughters, Rebecca and Tamarra Martz both of Wethersfield, Mary Lynn Maliga and her husband, Ken of Windsor Locks, Julie Green and her husband Jim, Andrea Lesko and her husband Terry, and Michelle and her husband Brian Benedict all of OH; three sons, Shane Martz of MA., Cy Martz and his wife Lori of WI., and Ken Martz and his wife Michele of OH.; three sisters, Nancy Morgan of WI., Peggy Johnson of AL., and Nora Jones of CA.; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Maliga, April Lesko, Anthony DeSalvo and Jarod Martz, his mother-in-law, Mary Teresa Onder of OH, special friend, Julie Dessin and her children, Mary and Adam and his special buddy ""Rocky."" Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. The burial with full military honors will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Calling hours are Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
