Giulio Francesco Cessario, 92, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of 65 years to Valentina (Bruno) Cessario passed away peacefully, Friday, December 20, 2024, at home with his family by his side. Giulio was born on June 14, 1932 in San Giovanni Di Gerace, province of Reggio Calabria, Italy and was the son of the late Domenico and Immacolata (Galluzzo) Cessario.
Giulio owned and operated Washington Barber Shop on New Britain Avenue in Hartford for well over 50 years. Giulio enjoyed music, especially Italian music and had a large variety of his own personal playlists he enjoyed. He will be remembered for his love of family and family events, where many times he was the photographer or videographer.
In addition to his wife, Giulio leaves his sons Giulio D. Cessario and his wife Eileen and John Cessario and his wife Gina. He also leaves his precious six grandchildren; Danielle (Matthew) Karotkin, Stephanie Cessario, Nina Cessario, John Cessario, Ava Cessario and Caila Cessario and his sweet great grandchildren; Gia and Austin Karotkin, as well as, many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sadly, Giulio was predeceased by his son Anthony Francis “Nino” Cessario, his siblings; Vincenzo, Concetta and Maria (Peppina).
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Entombment to follow at Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT.
