Gary Fournier, 51, of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2021. He was the husband of Annette (McKeon) Fournier. Gary was born in Hartford on May 19, 1969 and was the son of Phillis (Jones) Benoit and the late Leonard Fournier. Gary was a graduate of Rocky Hill High School.
During his lifetime, he held many titles; chef, mechanic, landscaper, but his true passion began when he worked as of a commercial fisherman. It was then he knew his love of the sea. In his spare time, Gary also enjoyed working on cars and he loved to ride motorcycles. Most important to Gary was the time he spent with his family, they meant everything to him.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Danielle Daigle and her husband Richard of Wethersfield and Allyson Fournier of Manchester, his cherished grandson, Riley Daigle, his brothers, Benjamin Strazze and his partner, Gene Zaglin of CA, James Brice, Jr. of Manchester, who was also Gary’s best friend. He also leaves his devoted sister Bonita “Bonnie” Strazze-Lawler and her husband Bruce of Pembroke, NH. along with his step-father Phillip Benoit. In addition, Gary will be missed by his nephew, Eric Strazze, with whom he shared a special relationship and Eric’s wife Tiffany.
He also leaves Heather Messier, Jeremy Messier, Thomas McKeon, II along with Lisette, Hailey, Jowey, Ella and Tommy, III. Gary leaves several extended family members and friends who will miss him very much.
In addition to his father, Gary was predeceased by his grandmother Clara Jones, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. He is also predeceased by Jessica McKeon.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, CT. A prayer service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Windsor.
