Domenico ‘Domenic’ Mancini, 91, widower of Filomena ‘Phyllis’ (DiCarlo) Mancini since 2008, of Farmington, entered into God’s care on October 11, 2023. Domenic was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy and was the son to the late Antonio and Maria Mancini. Domenic immigrated from Italy to America at 18 years old. He followed his heart, learned English, worked hard and achieved the American dream of success.
He was well known for his leadership and expertise in beautifying the communities throughout the city of Hartford for over 50 years. He co-founded, and owned D&A construction and M&G construction where he was responsible for major city contracts for roads and parks. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Domenic was an avid card player, loved trips to the casino, bocce ball with the family, watching football on Sundays and playing the stock market.
He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, undying love and loyalty for his family, his beautiful smile and bright blue eyes.
Domenic and Filomena “Phyllis” raised their four children in West Hartford / Canton Ct. He is survived and will be dearly missed by; Mary Lou Mancini of Monrovia, CA, Tony Mancini and his partner Aileen Culpepper of Farmington, Richard Mancini of West Hartford, and Nancy Mancini of West Hollywood, CA. He also leaves his brother, Rocco Mancini of West Hartford, his two precious grandchildren Marcus Mancini and Domenic Mancini, many nieces and nephews and several relatives and friends.
