Theodore “Ted” Fetters, 94, of Emerson passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Ted retired from Bergen Pines Hospital and was an avid golfer and musician. Ted served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the U.S. Army Band as Drum Major playing trumpet and French horn. He continued his love of music as a member of the American Federation of Musicians (Local 526) playing with various groups. Ted was also a former member of Rotary International and the former Masonic Lodge Whitehead of Cliffside Park, NJ. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Julia E. (nee Davenport); his brother, Raymond Fetters; and his sisters, Shirley Oakley and Verna Alagia. He is survived by his devoted children, Julie Winter and her husband Edward and Nancy E. Lippincott; his loving grandchildren, Jennifer McCann and her husband Scott, Daniel Lippincott, Edward T. Winter and his wife Trang; his great grandchildren, Bryce, Austen and soon-to-be born Jaime; his dear brother-in-law, Dominick Alagia and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Funeral service Monday 10 AM at Becker Funeral Home with the Internment to follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-5 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National MS Society or a charity of your choice in his memory.
