Rose M. Weber, 92, of Saddle River, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26th, 2021 with her daughters at her side. Rose was born in Jersey City on August 18th, 1929 to Grace and Bernard Celauro, she was predeceased by loving brothers Joseph and Lou.
After graduating from Ferris High School in Jersey City, Rose went to work as a secretary in New York City. In 1951, while sitting in church at midnight mass on Christmas Eve, the love of her life, Clemens M. Weber, asked her to be his wife. They married on June 7th, 1952. Together, they had four children. They moved to Washington Township, and later to Saddle River.
Rose’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and host her family at home for the holidays and in the summertime at her home on Long Beach Island.
Rose loved creating still-life oil paintings in her home art studio. After raising her children, she worked as a Montessori school teacher and as a paralegal. She eventually launched her own business and became a successful real estate entrepreneur.
She was part of a tight-knit group of life-long friends, who traveled, hosted potlucks, went down the beach and enjoyed pasta at Rose’s home on New Year’s Day.
After the sudden passing of her late husband and oldest son, she founded a bereavement group at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church where she also served as Eucharistic Minister.
Faith was a huge part of her life and her marriage. Together, with her husband Clem, they made a generous donation to construct a church in Peru.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clemens M. Weber. She was also predeceased by her two sons, James G. Weber and Stephen G. Weber. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Patrice M. Weber Marciano; Geralyn M. Duffy and husband Joseph Duffy; daughter-in-law Linda Steller and husband Ken Steller; and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Weber. She was the loving grandmother of Loren Weber, Holly Weber, Christie Duffy, Coral Weber, Matthew Marciano, Angela Duffy, Miranda Moser, Kyle James Weber, Nicholas Weber, Rob Steller and Paul Steller. She leaves behind great-grandchildren Maddox, Kennedy, and Delaney Weber; Maya, Melia, and Kai Driggs; and the late Bear Weber.
The family will receive mourners on Wednesday, December 1st from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home, located at 219 Kinderkamack Road, in Westwood. A Catholic service honoring Rose’s life will be held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 2nd. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, N.Y.
