Robert "Bob" Woods

Beloved husband of 55 years to Elaine (Cosgrove) Woods. Devoted father to Christine Ross and her husband Matt of River Vale, and Jim Woods of Spring Lake. In his later years he loved spending time with his three Grandchildren Julia and Robbie Ross, and Quinn Woods. Born in Queens, NY, his parents James and Mary (Mangan) moved to Palisades Park, NJ where Bob was raised. After attending Leonia High School and graduating in 1959, Bob began his career in banking. During this time he also served in the National Guard. In 1976 he made the decision that working for others was no way to go through life, so he took the risk and started his own company C&E Credit Consultants. Forty-six years later one of his great legacies is that the business is still thriving and run by his daughter. In addition to his family, friends, and business, Bob was passionate about sports. He was a lifelong Yankees, Knicks, and Giants fan. But no sport gave him more joy than high school basketball. He was a fixture in gyms across North Jersey and generations of players, coaches, and officials knew Bob. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Tuesday November 22 from 4pm to 8pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood. A Mass celebrating Bob's life and faith will be held on Wednesday November 23rd at 10:30am at Assumption Church in Emerson.
