Robert John Masten

Robert John Masten, 63 years old of Westwood, NJ passed away on December 10, 2014. Born in Teaneck, NJ, he grew up in Dumont, NJ. Robert was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Hackensack, NJ for 37 years. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers; he loved his motorcycles and was a member of the V-Max Owners Association. Robert was very handy and enjoyed fixing items around his house. Robert had a great love of English Bulldogs, especially Trixie his loving Bulldog. He loved sports, especially the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He loved trivia, and knew a lot of interesting facts. Robert was a person who brightened a room just by walking through the door, and within minutes have everyone within earshot laughing. He was a friend to everyone he met. He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Rose (Savage) Masten; his daughters, Tracy Burke and her husband Joseph and Tricia Green; his step son, Brian Castillo; and his grandchildren, Brianna, Caitlin and Brendan and a large loving extended family. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Sunday 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Westwood Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 101 Washington Ave., Westwood, NJ 07675.
