St. John, Regina, passed away this afternoon March 13, 2015 at 3 in Hillsdale, New Jersey in her home with family at her side. She had lived in Hillsdale in the same house since 1956. She was born in Union City, New Jersey on September 16, 1931 to Alfred and Gertrude (Teucher) Ballabio. She attended Hackensack High School class of 1950.
She married George E. St. John on July 5, 1952 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. They had lived in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Schenectady, New York and Idaho Falls, Idaho before settling in Hillsdale. She joined the Hillsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service in June of 1976. Served as their president in 1984 and as Captain in 1987, 1990-1991, 1993-1994, and finally in 1996-1997. She was a life member of the Hillsdale Volunteer Ambulance Service. She also served as New Jersey State First Aid Council (NJSFAC) 3rd District Chairperson for approximately 3 years in the early 1990’s. She is survived by her four sons, Alfred of Beaverton, Oregon, Jeffrey of Park Ridge, New Jersey, Wayne of Alexandria, Virginia and John of Hillsdale, grandchildren Christopher, Peter, Andrew, Jacquelyn, Jill, Ashley, Taylor, Anthony and John, Jr., three great-granddaughters, one great-grandson and brother Alfred Ballabio of Woolwich Twp. , New Jersey. She was preceded by husband George E. St. John in 2000 and son Gregory in 1957. Funeral from the Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Tuesday at 9:30 am, followed by a mass at St. John’s the Baptist Church, Hillsdale at 10:30 am. Interment Maryrest Cemetery. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
