Kathleen "Kay" (nee Keim) Conn-Demos passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022. Kay was born to James and Kathleen (nee Molloy) Whittaker in Jersey City, NJ. She graduated from Jersey City Medical Center School of Nursing, St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY and completed studies to become a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Through the years Kathleen worked in several areas of nursing including Public Health, School and Hospital Nursing and Long-Term Care. It was later in her adult life where Kay developed her real passion, working with psychiatric and substance abuse patients, whom she held dear to her heart. Until her death, Kay remained an independent and active member of her community. Over the years, she was a lively participant in various book clubs, ladies’ luncheons, yoga, and various groups within her parish, as she was deeply committed to her Catholic faith.
Kathleen is predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Christopher H. Demos (d.2015) and her former husband, John J. Conn. She is survived by her devoted children Michael J. Conn and his wife Denise, Kathleen Jensen, and Maureen Conn Brent and her husband Jack. Loving grandchildren, Kristen, Courtney, Carly Chandler and her husband, Quincy, Katie Olohan and her husband Richard, grandson Zachary, along with her cherished great-grandchildren, Richard and James.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 2 PM to 7 PM at Becker Funeral Home, located on 219 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJ 07675. A funeral mass is planned for Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 10 AM at Church of the Presentation located on 271 W Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ followed by entombment services at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
