Joan A. Caruccio, 93, a long-time resident of Park Ridge, passed away on December 5, 2024. Beloved wife of the late John C. Caruccio. Devoted mother of her son Thomas Caruccio and wife Linda and her daughter Janet Caruccio-Revfi and husband Frank. Dear grandmother of Amanda Eglinger and husband Ben, Danielle Beaty and husband Austin, and Jax Revfi.
The youngest of five daughters, Joan was born and raised in Bergenfield, NJ. She married the love of her life, John, and they settled and raised their family in Park Ridge.
Joan adored children and worked many years as the assistant librarian at West Ridge Elementary School. She was a voracious reader herself, and she enjoyed her early morning and evening literary escapes. She loved the arts and looked forward to Broadway shows and local theater performances.
Joan was a natural athlete who learned to ski, golf, and play tennis after the age of 40. In fact, she and John skied and played golf into their 70s near their home away from home in Vermont. She loved the outdoors and spent the spring and summer months beautifying her yard and flower gardens.
Joan and John enjoyed an active, adventurous life in their golden years. They traveled stateside and abroad to explore new places and experience different cultures.
Joan was a strong woman of faith and an active member of the Pascack Reformed Church in Park Ridge. She served the congregation in many ways, including regular visits to those who were isolated in their times of need.
Above all, Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her grandchildren and was an enthusiastic supporter at their various athletic events, school plays, church activities, and special occasions. Joan was kind, thoughtful, peaceful, and compassionate–always placing the needs of her family and others above her own. Her beautiful soul will live in our hearts and minds forever because she made the world–and our world–a better place.
Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, December 12, 10:30 am-1:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675.
