Ms. Carolyn M. FitzGerald

FitzGerald, Carolyn M., of West New York, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed into everlasting life on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Born in Mineola, NY on November 10, 1967. She is survived by her parents Thomas and Patricia FitzGerald. Loving sister of Kevin and his wife Eileen, Brian and his wife Meg, Daniel and his wife Erika. Cherished aunt of Molly, Maddie, Ryan, Connor, Colin and Thomas. She is also survived by many aunts, uncle and cousins. A graduate of Bishop Kenrick H.S. in Norristown, PA and a 1989 graduate of Fordham University with a B.S. degree in Finance. Pursuing a career in Finance, she was most recently employed with Standard & Poors Capital I.Q. as a Sales Director. Carolyn was a driven woman with a strong passion for life. She was recognized in the largest of crowds by her distinctly beautiful red hair. Her resonating laugh and welcoming smile helped her create lifelong friendships. Challenging herself in every facet of life, she enjoyed art, music and cooking special meals for family and friends where she was quick to share a new recipe. Whether for business or leisure she enjoyed travel with biking trips to Ireland, Tuscany and the Canadian Rockies. Her career in finance included time spent in Kansas City, Philadelphia, London and New York. Along the way she developed a unique ability to network and make friends that were personal and important to her. She adored her nieces and nephews and her generosity included imparting a bit of wisdom on them. In the end she fought the battle of her life with enduring strength through surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and rehabilitation. She faced death with an inspiring will, faith, grace and dignity. She was loved and will be greatly missed. The family will receive their relatives and friends at St. Gabriel the Archangel R.C. Church, 88 East Saddle River Road, Saddle River, NJ on Thursday, February 27, 5:30-8:00PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Carolyn’s life and faith will be held at the church on Friday, February 28 at 10:30AM.
