Bohdan Hlushewsky

Bohdan Hlushewsky of Harrison, NY passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 87 in Paramus, NJ. Born on July 31, 1937, in Brody, Ukraine, Bohdan was cherished for his vibrant spirit and love for life, which was enriched by his passion for the violin, opera, photography, family and friends. He was an alumnus of the University of Hartford - Hartt College and Columbia University - Teachers College, which laid the foundation for his successful career in music education for nearly 40 years. Bohdan was a devoted and loving family man and friend known for his warm smile and infectious laughter. He is survived by his son Mark, daughter-in-law Aimee, and sister Oksana Oprysko. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Irene, his son Andrew, his sister Iwanna Matkiwsky, and his parents Iwan and Anna Hluszewskyj. Friends and family are invited to gather for a viewing at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 3 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held the following day, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:30 am at Saint Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 141 Sarah Wells Trail, in Campbell Hall, NY.
