Anthony J. Vaccaro

VACCARO, Anthony Joseph 85, formerly of Blauvelt, NY. Sadly with heavy hearts we need to share with you that our dear father passed through the gates of heaven on Tuesday, February 11 to be with his beloved wife Pat who passed on February 7. Tony was born on August 2, 1928 to Anna and Carmine Vaccaro in Mt. Vernon, NY. He proudly served his country during the Korean War campaign, 1951-1953. Tony and Pat were married 59 years and spent their happiest days raising their four children in Blauvelt, NY. His greatest joy was doting and spoiling his “special angel” Kathy. Surviving him are his four children; Barbara Greve and her husband Tom, daughter Kathy, son Anthony and Anita, son Eddie and Jackie. Loving grandfather of Christine, Jimmy, Stephen, Samantha, Tom and Mike. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is a memory they’ll live on in our hearts. Relatives and friends may gather at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Tony’s life and faith will be at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale, NJ on Saturday at 10AM. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution in Tony’s name to ARC of Rockland or Camp Venture or Wounded Warriors.
