Dearest Mamma,
Thank you for helping me become the person I am today. Thank you for helping me get through school.  I am glad to have tasted your Indonesian dishes.  Will I miss your laugh?  "Zeker!"  Many wonderful guests attended your memorial service; a lot of family, neighbors, friends, and acquaintances.  Some people we haven't seen in over 20 years.  They came to honor you and support us. They said you were a beautiful lady and liked how we described you and the stories we told of you and your life.  There was nice music about what you mean to us. The Chapel seats 250  and almost every seat was filled!!  Aaliya, Rayah and Jasmin sat in the front row with Sonja and paid full attention,  they were blessed.  I know they will always remember it and have fond memories of their loving Oma.    Bob Black did a wonderful work in teaching us the importance and dignity of what your Memorial Service was all about.  Henry sent a poem for me to read, and Otto read a poem at the graveside for you.  There were soooo many flowers sent for you; they were gorgeous.  Everyone knows how much you like flowers!!  Some were sent from Holland and Colorado.  My dining room table is filled with dozens and dozens of beautiful memorial and condolences cards send from all over the world-  for YOU!!  You are surely loved.  We miss you!  I hope we have all learned the lessons you wanted to teach us, about life, family, love, beauty, honesty, dignity and respect. You set a great example to us.  As we go on with our own life, may we live it in a way that would continue  to make you proud of us.   With All My Love,

My beautiful sister Mabel, before I could write my thoughts, I had to look at your pictures first, it brought back many awesome memories, though I was very little, I remember admiring your beauty and that of Pauline, I wanted to be just like you when I grow up. Tante Sien and I use to sit on the front porch looking at those pic's, I finally got to see you in person when I brought Pap's to see you in 1976, little did you know that, that was one of my dreams.. to finally see my sister (at least one of you) but to watch Pap's face glow the whole time we were with you guys was heaven on earth to me. I love you so much, I will miss you till we gather around the throne Of the King of kings and the Lord of lords when it's my time to come home, give everyone a hug and kiss from me, till then my sweet and beautiful sister....

Bedankt voor de jaren dat wij van u mochten genieten. Elk jaar wanneer wij naar USA kwamen was u er altijd en deden we leuke uitjes naar restaurants. Ik zal u heel erg missen en vaak aan u denken u was als een oma voor mij, we miss you rest in peace...

Mamma I miss you so much.I some times hear your voice calling me before I could answer it hits me mamma is not here than  I get tears in my eyes. You are  a wonderful and caring and also a loving  mamma even when we have a disagreement on things.You are the best mamma that I could ever have. I love you and I miss you.

Oma, i will always remember your voice scolding Sonja and I for...well...we never really knew, but it was only because you thought i was a stranger. Once you remembered it was me, your laugh was enough to end a war. Blessings to your family. Im here Sonja, if you need anything. xoxo

Oma you will be greatly missed havent been able to express how ive been feeling because tears keep falling but you are the most amazing grandma and great grandma and i know your looking down on every single one of us. We may have lost mom,friend, grandma, great grandma, sister ect but Heaven just gained angel and may you rest in peace I LOVE YOU!!!!!
