Connie Conkle was born on May 27, 1932, in Griffin, Georgia, and died on June 8, 2022, in Huntington Beach, California, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman, and survived by their four boys and their wives; Victor and Karen, Steve and Debbie, Greg and Dee Dee, and Jeff and Malinda. She had 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Connie’s love for the Lord Jesus, her family, and her friends is well known by those who shared life’s experiences with her on a regular basis. Like most mothers, Connie worried over the well-being of her family. However, when she flashed that famous Connie Conkle smile, she brought encouragement, laughter, and a sense of well-being that brightened the lives of all.
When it came to careers she was the original #connie2.0. From the textile mills in Griffin to California Computer in Anaheim, she was a valued employee displaying leadership skills. So it was no surprise that after Truman died she took over his termite company. Later she sold Armed Exterminators and spread her entrepreneurial wings by opening CJ’s Nail Garden. That led to other entrepreneurial adventures such as a purveyor of jewelry, fashion consultant, interior designer, and real estate agent.
One of the constants in Connie’s life was her involvement in Church. Teaching Sunday School, leading children’s church, singing in music groups and choirs, and greeting people at the door, were just a way of life for her. She demonstrated her relationship with the Lord Jesus was life-changing.
