Shirley Jeanne LaPorte, 72, of Westlake Village, California passed away on August 25, 2024 while at home with her family by her side. She was born April 25, 1952 in West Hazelton, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Westlake Village for 38 years. Shirley touched many lives throughout her life. In her earlier years, she became a flight attendant (1977-1984) where she enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life. Shirley also excelled as a Calligrapher and Greeting Card Designer, combining her studies in the English Language, Journalism along with Art and Design. She then started her own business “Classic Lines Calligraphy” where her work was displayed all over the world in books, art galleries and on T.V. Later, she became an instructor at the Canejo Valley Adult Education Center where she shared her passion for education and artistry. She will be remembered as an accomplished expert in the fine art of Calligraphy.
Above all, Shirley was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She put family ahead of her own needs, sharing her warmth and kindness to all. She will be deeply missed.
Shirley is survived by her loving son and daughter in law Chris and Ewa, loving grandchildren, Emmy and Isla, as well as other family members. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 48 years Carl in 2021.
