He was a proud member of The California Field Ironworkers Union, Local 433. He began his career working for C&W Construction Specialties at the age of 19 and became somewhat of a legend in the industry. Through the years, he became well-known and respected within the trade. Everyone knew Ronnie at C&W. Over the years at C&W, he adopted the Bennett family as his own and was genuinely proud to be a part of the C&W Family.
Upon his retirement, Ronnie enjoyed being actively involved in The Ventura County Corvette Club and The Ventura Downtown Lions Club. He also loved to fish, and though he never mastered the craft, he sure had a good time trying!
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Terry & Lacy; sisters, Nadine Vaughn & Sarah Pearce; and his son, Marlan.
He will be greatly missed by many friends and associates as well as his wife, Janelle, of 27 years; son, Ryan, (Rebecca); grandsons, Cody, Trevor & Kyle; sister, Joyce VanStaaveren; brother, Charles Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank caregivers, Moe, Scott & Ervin, and the entire Oakhurst Hospice team; specifically, Victor, Darleen, Marta, Myra, Ani, and Julie for the care and compassion they showed Ronnie in his final days.
