Kelly Roger Vaillant, 55, passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2024. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, son and friend whose boundless love, warmth, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Born on February 16, 1969 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Kelly was deeply proud of his Canadian heritage. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuropsychology from the University of Alberta and had an accomplished career in Clinical Development. He was an extraordinary leader and innovator, guiding global functions in Clinical Data Management, Clinical Operations, Clinical Systems, and, most recently, Clinical Trial Disclosure and Data Transparency. His professional brilliance was only matched by the compassion and respect he showed to his colleagues.
Kelly’s passions brought so much joy and creativity to his life. Whether on the golf course, behind the lens of a camera, driving and talking about cars with his son or working on a project with his talented hands, he gave his heart to everything he did. He could build, fix, or repair just about anything, and he approached each task with skill and love. His quick wit and love for trivia made every moment with him fun and enriching, as he loved sharing fascinating facts and stories.
But more than anything, Kelly’s heart belonged to his family. He was the kind of husband and father who radiated love and dedication. His home was a haven of laughter, warmth, and comfort, where his beloved dogs always played a part in the family joy. His love for his family was boundless, and every moment with them was precious.
Kelly is survived by his devoted wife, Mindy; his children Aidan, Trevor, and Mia; his mother, MaryAnn; his sister, Michelle (Jeff); and his twin brother, Kevin (Tanja). He was predeceased by his father, Maurice. His memory will be treasured as a legacy of unconditional love, generosity, kindness, and humor.
Kelly was truly a special man whose gentle soul and loving spirit made the world a better place. Though his loss is immeasurable, his love and light will forever shine in the hearts of those he touched.
