Jacqueline Alice Lockhart Severn was born on February 1, 1938 at The Stork’s Nest Hospital Inglewood, CA. She passed away on October 6, 2024 at the Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, California due to a heart condition.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher A. Severn, 6 children Sheri (Leo), Chris (Carrie), David (Carmen), Dan, Holly (Jared), and Heather (Jordan), 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and her brother, Beryl. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Lucille Lockhart, and siblings Bob, Joyce, and Jim.
She and Christopher married February 11, 1956 and were later sealed for time and eternity in 1958 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Los Angeles Temple.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. To know Jacqui, is to love Jacqui. Her empathetic, joyful soul always loved to connect with people. You would see Jacqui host fun themed parties, visit people, give a helping hand, and be a shoulder to cry on. She was a natural peacemaker. She loved people fiercely and wanted everyone to just get along with each other.
Jacqui had many talents. By profession, she was a licensed cosmetologist. She was recognized in Ventura County fairs for her culinary and baking skills. Jacqui could taste a dish at a restaurant and tell you exactly what those ingredients were. She was an incredible seamstress and could sew almost anything you could dream of. She turned a center piece into a floral work of art. She had a keen artist’s eye with her paintings of the outdoors and sketches of her family. She was also known to have fun, creative ideas and just liked having fun in general. She would frequently ask: “Are you having a party? Where’s the party?”
She inspired people to live up to their potential. She loved God, her faith, and all those around her. Her legacy is left with her loving footprints in our hearts.
