The most important thing to Steven was his family, especially his daughter and granddaughter. Steven worked for the City of Sulphur for over 20 years and a Volunteer Fireman for Ward 1 for 7 years. He took great pride in his work everyday. Steven enjoyed nothing better than watching Nascar and football. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Butch and Doris Franklin, and a brother, Mark Franklin.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tessa Franklin of Westlake; a granddaughter, Kaydence Kershaw of Westlake; brother, Preston Franklin and wife, Stacey of DeQuincy; a sister, Mary Franklin Wilks and husband, Lee of Westlake; two nephews, Dexter Harris and wife, Jessica of Longville, and Matthew Harris and wife, Brandi of Sulphur; three nieces, Christina Russell of Sulphur, Bethany Carlquist and fiancé, Coby Guillory of Lake Charles, and Victoria Carlquist of Westlake; Ward 1 Fire Department and City of Sulphur Family; and numerous cousins.
Steven's decision to be an organ donor was the last selfless and heroic gift he gave.
