He was born October 7, 1925 in Laurel, MS to Henry and Vada (Garner) Ferguson. He married Margie Hollowell on August 28, 1951 and she preceded him in death on August 20, 2014. His parents and one sister, Alene Ferguson also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Ferguson and his wife Bridget of Aubrey, TX and Jerry Ferguson and Pam Larson of Westlake, one daughter Debbie Felts and her husband Patrick of Fleming Island, FL, four sisters, Henrietta Harvey and Evelyn Wesley both of St. Francisville, LA, Sara Ard and her husband George of McComb, MS and Marie Stephens and her husband Roscoe of Columbia, TN, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Corpsman and was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and received his Bachelor Degree in Pharmacology. He was the owner of the Westlake Drugstore on Miller Ave., and later worked at Caraway’s and Barger’s drugstores in Westlake until he retired. Jack was a lifelong active member of Westlake United Methodist Church where he loved singing in the choir. He was a sponsor and presenter of the Confer-Creel Scholarship Selection Committee at Westlake High School. Jack enjoyed sports and was an avid Ole Miss fan and supporter.
A visitation will be on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5 to 9 pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake. A funeral service will be on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:00 am at Westlake United Methodist Church, the Rev. Betty Northern officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westlake Memorial Park.
