Donald McCloud

Donnie graduated from Westlake High School. He was a member of the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973 as a Torpedoman’s Mate 1st Class on the nuclear submarine USS Robert E. Lee and he was an honored Vietnam Veteran.

He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 406, for 40 years as a crane operator.

He is survived by his mother Avis Shows McCloud of West Lake, wife Barbara McMillin McCloud of Moss Bluff, sister Linda McCloud of West Lake, twin sister Bonnie Thornton of West Lake, sister Shellie McCloud and wife Amoré of Slidell, son Robert McCloud and wife Krystal of Sulphur, son Charles McCloud and wife Wendy of North Little Rock, AR, son Steven McCloud of St. Louis, MO and grandchildren Riley Rose and Brody Cooper McCloud.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Louis McCloud.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Thornton, Evan Thornton, Patrick McMillin, James Tracy, Scott Tracy, Joe Tracy, David Bonnin, and Andy Bonnin.

His funeral will be at 2p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Father Charles McMillin will officiate. Visitation is from 5p.m. to 9p.m. Thursday and will resume from 11a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the grandchildren's college fund. Checks may be made out to Barbara McCloud.
