Forever elegant and tenacious, Maureen fought the good fight. Having succumbed to congestive heart failure, Maureen passed away peacefully at St. Pauls Hospital in Vancouver, on June 8, 2015, age 85. Survived by her children Greg, Christine (Dana Brown) and David (Jenny) as well as her grandchildren Nathan and Jeffrey (David); Scott, Bradley and Mitchell (Greg); Harley (Christine). Maureen was predeceased by brother Douglas (1954) father Gordon (1978) and mother Susan (1996). Having grown up on their homestead in Hoosier Saskatchewan through the dirty 30’s, Maureen graduated with a BSc in Home Economics from the University of Manitoba (1951) before marrying Bob Crompton (1953-1974) eventually settling in Vancouver, with vocations in dietetics and real-estate. Skiing, bridge and St. Anslems Anglican church, Maureen was the consummate pilgrim, having walked the entire 800km Camino (Walk of St. James) not once but twice by her mid 70’s. A Memorial service will be held at St. Anselms Church, 5210 University Boulevard, Friday July 17, from 3:00-5:00. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
