After eighty-six years filled with her special laughter, optimism and devotion to family, Mary (nee Powelson) Whitehouse has passed away. Mary was hoping to rejoin her husband Stuart who died earlier this year and whom she missed so very much. Let’s pray she will. Mary is survived by her sons, Ken (Candy, Christina, Sunshine) and Paul. She was the most loving person and the finest mother a boy could have. Mary was one of twelve children born to David and Genevieve Powelson in Raymond, Alberta. Stuart and Mary were equal partners in both life and business. Together they started Toy-Pak, the first wholesale toy distributor for the grocery trade in B.C. After retiring in West Vancouver, they enjoyed the luxury of traveling hand in hand for forty years. Winters were spent in the Palm Springs sun playing tennis. Summers were devoted to boating in B.C. aboard the Casablanca. A graveside service was held at Mountain View Cemetery. Let us celebrate Mary’s steadfast kindness this Saturday with a manhattan. To our darling mother - Rest in Peace
