It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Peggy Cooper on Feb 11, 2015 just a month short of her 90th birthday. Peggy was predeceased by her parents and her husband and leaves behind many dear friends and relatives. Peggy was born and raised in Winnipeg’s North End where she learned her incredible work ethic. Her efficiency and need for perfection in all things brought her from a junior bookkeeper to a Contracts Administrator in the Contract Sales Division during her 44 years with the T. Eaton Company. Starting in Winnipeg, she transferred to Eaton’s in Vancouver in January 25, 1967 and said it was the best move she ever made! She loved Vancouver, and upon retiring moved to the small community of South Surrey.
Peggy always had an inquisitive mind and was always researching something! Her love of National Geographic Magazine fueled that imagination and upon retirement she travelled extensively exploring all the places she had been reading about for all those years. Her trips to Asia, Europe, Russia, Egypt and throughout Canada and the United States were the subject of many hours of conversation with friends and family.
She was fiercely independent, kind, loving and giving earning her a special place in the hearts of all who met her. Thank you to Dr. Le, the staff and volunteers of Peace Arch Hospital and Hospice, her friends and family for making Peggy’s last leg of this journey so peaceful and comfortable.
