Dr. Dennis Jordon Vince

With profound sorrow Mrs. Bruna Vince informs

relatives and friends of the demise of her beloved

husband Dennis, who departed his l i f e on

Thursday, July 19, 2018. Predeceased by his

parents, Dr. and Mrs. A.J. Vince of Toronto, his

son William Vince of West Vancouver, his brother,

Dr. Robert Vince of Toronto.

Denny was born and raised in Toronto and later

graduated from The Faculty of Medicine at the

University of Toronto, Class of 1954. He relocated

to Vancouver and was instrumental in the

planning and development of the first paediatric

cardiac catheterization laboratory at Vancouver

General Hospital. He practiced at B.C. Children’s

Hospital and devoted his life to the care of

children with congenital heart disease. Denny

loved his garden and spent many long hours

planting and re-arranging the beds, always finding

room to add more flowers. Summers were spent

at the cottage on Savary Island.

He is survived by his children, Pauline (Colin)

Gibson, Lyn Vince (Miquel Gomez), Janet (Jim)

Richard of Dallas, Robert (Stacey) Vince of Malibu

and fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Edmunds and the

Palliative Care Team at Lions Gate Hospital for

their support and care. In lieu of flowers,

donations may be made in Denny’s name to
