Dear Jeff and Keirstin,
Words cannot express the loss that we feel with the passing of Carolynn.  
Carolynn was an incredible person - with great wit, laughter, compassion, creativity and an outpouring of love.  Carolynn was always there if and when you needed her.  She always had time to listen and loved to take it all in just when you thought she wasn't.  We must remember her great sense of humor, organization, family values, incredible ability to cook and bake and all the makings of Carolynn that you just fell in love with.  She would not want us to remember her for her sickness or weakness.  Carolynn was the strongest person you would ever have met - both physically and menatlly.  She could out debate anyone - even our Dad, and that is saying alot.  Carolynn would never back down on any issue if it was important to her - on the other hand she would sometimes take the other side just to piss you off.  
It is when we look at Keirstin and the love that she and Jeff had to recognize what an amazing person she was.  She lives everyday through them.  Each of them has quite a bit of Carolynn in them.  The most fun we had as a family was to watch the three of them interact with each other - always with quick one liners, sarcastic tones which inevitibly led to laughter which filled the room.  Jeff laughing on the inside so his belly shook - Keirstin with her subtle snicker and Carolynn out loud laughing.  That will be missed.  When we recall the stories of the past you see the twinkle in Jeff's eyes and the warmth in his heart - that is how we will keep Carolynn alive...within us.
Carolynn may be gone to a better place, a place without pain and suffering.  She would not want us to grieve her passing but to celebrate her life with Jeff and Keirstin.
I am proud Jeff to be your sister and Auntie to Keirstin.  I am always here for both of you and I promise to continue in Carolynn's honor to drive you nuts!

My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead.

Those were the days.... When I think of Carolynn, I think of our younger days spent in West Vancouver sitting by the pool enjoying many a laugh with good friends.  We were like the four muskateers back then, Carolynn, Joan, Susanne and I and trust me when I say Keirstin, your mom was a saint... no really.
I then remember my wedding where she, along with the other muskateers stood by my side after spending many days not only putting up with my craziness but making plastic pom poms to put all over the wedding car which of course was from Hallmark Ford. (Thanks again for that Jeff.  Can't remember if I ever did thank you properly.)
For Carolynn, girl, may you finally have the peace you have been deserving of for so long.
And for Jeff and Keirstin, may you draw strength from family and friends and know that even though our paths do not cross as often as they used to, you will always have our love.

Jeff & Keirstin:
Over the past five years, I have had the pleasure of driving your wife, mother home from the office. The first few trips were difficult for both of us. I was not aware of her health condition, and she did not know me other than an employee of Hallmark. However this quickly changed as I became more understanding of her health, and she felt comfortable knowing what we discussed would remain between us, I heard and enjoyed stories of the Hall, McIntyre families that brought much joy and happiness to Carolynns face. There was never a discussion of her pain and suffering, only happy stories of events and places of her family and loved ones. The ride home always ended on a happy note. Only once were there tears of pain as she made her way from the car to the front door of her home. Jeff & Keirstin you will miss your loved one, however you have the knowledge that she is in Heaven where there is no more pain and suffering. I will miss her stories, georgeous smile & heartfelt laughter. Our thoughts & prayers will be with you and family this week during prayers and service.
