With heavy hearts we have suddenly lost our beloved Alyssa Jane Bampton who passed away with her family by her side on May 31, 2022 in Lions Gate Hospital. Alyssa had such a kind heart and had a huge love of life and adventure and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and auntie. She leaves behind her loving husband Paul Cook, parents Barry and Penny Bampton, sister Nicole Lawson [nee Bampton], and brother-in-law Sam Lawson. She was a totally dedicated mother to daughter Nikki Bampton and Brandon, and deeply loved her grandchildren Memphis, Violet, Scarlet, and Stella and was a wonderful Auntie to Fredric and Bjorn Lawson and stepmother to Brook and Mitchell Cook.
She also leaves behind her much loved Auntie Margaret Glynn and all the Glynn family of Australia, and Uncle Glenn Bampton, his wife Jeannie, all her Winnipeg Families, as well as her Auntie Flora Dougherty and the Jill and Carol Dougherty Families in Ontario and her Auntie Diana Belhouse [nee Bampton] of North Vancouver.
Alyssa always had a positive attitude, great smile, and treated everyone with happiness and respect and had a great love of animals. Her determination was exemplified by her training and completing the Vancouver Marathon. Alyssa loved the outdoors and could be seen riding with Paul on the back of their Harley or ripping around on her ATV in the backcountry of BC. Her passing will leave a huge hole in all our hearts but she has left an everlasting effect on all our lives.
We would all like to especially thank the incredible doctors and nurses in both the Acuity Unit and ICU at Lions Gate Hospital for their kindness and extreme efforts to care for her during her final weeks. There will be no service by request.
