Upon his return home, he met Phyllis Stevens, and married her for time and all eternity at the Mesa Arizona Temple on September 6, 1963. Wayne and Phyllis recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Wayne and Phyllis are the proud parents of 4, grandparents of 19, and great-grandparents of 9.

He was an avid gardener and always had projects, like a chicken coop or a mud oven. He loved animals, and raised dogs, cats, chickens, and rabbits.
Wayne served in many church callings over the years, including Scout Master, High Priest Group Leader, and Bishop’s counselor.
He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis, daughter Sandra Calhoun (Rick), sons Phillip (Rebecca), Bradley (Cheralyn), Kyle (Christy), and his brother Tony (DeAnn) and Sister Teri Bowler (Chuck).
