Sandy Ketterer

Sandy, she was only Sandra when she was in trouble, was born to Bob and Billie Whittaker on July 26, 1950 in Garfield, Utah. She grew up in Magna, Utah with two younger brothers, Kerry and Jody. She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1968.

Sandy had many professions throughout her life, including her own wig store in the 1970s. She then dabbled in interior design, furniture sales, and was a waitress for many years. Sandy had an outgoing personality and was able to connect easily with just about anyone.

Sandy was blessed with a son, Travis, in 1971. She often referred to him as her miracle baby, since she was told she wouldn’t be able to have children. Together they weathered many of life’s storms.

Sandy married the love of her life, Dennis Ketterer, in 1991. They purchased a home in Kearns, Utah in 1994 where they remained inseparable until his death in March of 2022.

Sandy is survived by her son, Travis (Nancy) Whittaker, her grandchildren, who she loved dearly: Cameron, Courtney, and Caroline Whittaker, and her brother Kerry (Christie). She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dennis, and brother Jody.

Per Sandy’s request, a private memorial service to lay her and Dennis to rest will be held on November 29, 2024 at Valley View Cemetery in West Valley City, Utah.
