Dad was a selfless, devoted husband, father, sibling and friend. His friendly positive outlook on life was contagious. The mountains, and forests were places he loved to be where he found peace under vast skies and joy in the simple beauty of nature. Camping trips with his loved ones were among his happiest times, full of laughter, stories around the campfire, and quiet moments of gratitude for the world around him. Along with his love of camping, he lovingly served many callings with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the Boy Scouts for many years and most recently as a primary teacher for the sunbeams.
At home, Dad tended his yard with the same care and dedication he gave to everything. Dad never did anything halfway. He puttered around doing everything and anything he could find that needed doing. He put all of his mind, heart and love into every project he was apart of. His service to his friends and family reflected the deep love he felt that he was not always able to express in words. He was vibrant, full of life, and he always relentlessly worked to show us love and care no matter what we said or did.
Above all, his greatest pride and passion was his family. He gave of himself selflessly and without hesitation, pouring his love into every aspect of our lives. His love was constant and unconditional the way a father should be and with a strength we leaned on, often without realizing it’s depth. Dad held us together through life’s storms, was a source of comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love.
