Karl Harry Anderson passed away on October 3, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Karl was born on May 3, 1958 in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He was the fourth and youngest son of Elmo Harry Anderson and Wanda LaNae Curtis Anderson. At a young age his family moved to the Salt Lake Valley where he grew up. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1977-1979 in the Philippines. In 1985 he graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Karl had a successful career as a software engineer for companies including: Micropoint, 3COM, Microsoft, Raytheon and Forcepoint. He enjoyed working in cyber intelligence and mentoring others in his field. He appreciated and admired his colleagues and was proud of the work they achieved together.
Karl was a loving father and grandfather who would do anything for his family and was a great provider. He prided himself in the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren and loved ones. He was intelligent, generous, tender-hearted, selfless, kind, and funny. He had a deep and wholesome sense of humor which he used to brighten the lives of those around him.
Karl loved cooking delicious meals, riding across the country on his Harley-Davidson, watching his children play soccer and other sports, traveling with his children and their families, laughing with his brothers, telling jokes, shopping at Costco, purchasing fun gadgets from QVC, and going on toy runs to Target with his grandchildren. Most of all, he loved spending time and creating memories with his family.
He is survived by his children: Tyler Young Anderson (Nadalee), Kira Genae Morfin (Efrain), Mariah Ava Payne (Daniel). His grandchildren: Stella Rae Anderson, Everson Mateo Morfin, Olivia Rae Payne, Emma Mariah Payne. His brothers: Kelly W. Anderson (Xuebaoer), Laine A. Anderson (Suzanne). His former wife: Sonja Ann Hanson (Ron). The family cat: Matteea Lily. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by: His parents. His brother: Kurtis Elmo Anderson. And two angel babies: Jared Karl Anderson, Parker Curtis Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00am at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 8th from 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday, October 9th from 10:00am-10:45am at the same address. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park.
