Elijah Malik Henry, age 16, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021. Elijah was a beloved son, grandson, and who many would call their brother. Family was very important to him and he cherished the time that he spent with them. Elijah had an incredibly unique and untouchable bond with his mother and a very close relationship with his TT. Elijah was a multi-sport athlete at Hunter High School, including football and basketball, where he was highly regarded as a devoted, diligent, and aspiring young man who would always humbly listen to his mentors in order to apply his hard working character towards the goals he was dedicated to achieving. He sought to continue his success after high school as a student and as an athlete. Elijah made an impact on everybody who came in contact with him through his charismatic personality and jubilant spirit. His willingness to dance to anything; anywhere, anytime, allowed for every moment spent with him to be fun for everybody in the room. The care that Elijah exhibited was shown through protecting any underdog that he felt needed someone to back them.
He was born October 16, 2004 in Salt Lake City, UT to Shareese Tonell Henry. He is survived by his mother Shareese Henry, his TT Sheree Jepson, his father Keith Williams, his Uncles Robert Jackson, Richard Duncan, Alonzo Duncan, his Aunt Justice Henry and grandmother’s Mitzi Duncan and Vicki Burns. The connection he drew to his family could be seen through his effort to work, to love, and to stay humble while also being able to create entertainment through humor for all those around him. Children were always drawn towards Elijah for this reason. His friends looked at him as a true brother because of the bond that he would take the time to build with each of them. His teammates relied on him because of the work ethic he displayed by constantly training and finding ways to be a better athlete, and student, than he was the day prior. His loyalty was always on full display by the way he would unconditionally love those around him and always have their best interest in mind. Elijah had an old soul and was viewed as far beyond his years because of the maturity he carried around to each of his responsibilities. His mother loved him an unspeakable amount and she will always view him as her road dog, her baby, and her best friend.
Elijah Malik Henry is her young king and will forever be remembered.
A viewing will be held at 10 am with funeral services following at 11 am on July 2, 2021 at Valley View Memorial, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City.
